One of life's great quirks is that where we end up often differs from our expectations. My path to graphic design was circuitous. I originally intended to spend my life programming software; however, I was lured away by the siren song of the liberal arts and instead graduated with a B.A. in English (with an emphasis in Secondary Education). After graduating, I left to see the world and teach English in Japan for a year before finally returning to the Portland area.
Teaching English turned out to be less than I'd hoped and dreamed, so I went looking for a way to combine my love of photography with broader creative options. That is when I found graphic design. Design has given me a new way in which to see and interact with the world. I hope that my work is able to connect with you in some way.
